On the evening of December 1, 2023, over 50 local film industry professionals gathered at Krusch Cocktail Bar in downtown Ottawa for the Media Launch event of the 2023 Digi60 Filmmakers’ Festival.

For 3 hours, participating filmmakers, producers, actors and other creatives were able to chat, network and celebrate the end of the 60-day challenge and the announcement of this year’s Digi60 programme.

Earlier that day, a trailer containing scenes from all the 38 short films selected for the competition screenings was released on the festival's social media pages. All the films were directed by new and emerging Ottawa filmmakers, who were given 60 days to create short films including the theme, catch or idea of BRIDGE.

The next meeting of these creatives will be next week, when the 2023 Digi60 Filmmakers’ Festival takes place at the Ottawa Art Gallery, Digital Arts Resource Centre and Arts Court, with a programme of more than 50 films between the competition and non-competition screenings. The festival also features a series of professional development events, such as workshops, panels and networking sessions.

The 2023 Digi60 Filmmakers’ Festival runs from December 15th to 17th, and tickets and passes can be purchased on the festival's Eventbrite page. The full programme is available on the festival website.
