My practicum/internship experience at the Digi60 Filmmakers’ Festival has been an amazing experience for me. During my time at Digi60, I learned a lot about filming and editing and ultimately what it takes and what goes into making a short film in a short period of time. The most valuable part of my experience at Digi60 was getting to create three short behind-the-scenes videos for three different filmmakers with the help of Derek Price, Digi60’s technical director. Derek taught me a lot about the fundamentals of filming and editing and I learned a lot about these aspects of filmmaking in my short time there. He guided me through editing the behind-the-scenes videos and made my experience with Digi60 a very enjoyable one. I am thankful to have been a part of Digi60’s festival this year and it was amazing to meet so many new people that are involved within Ottawa’s film industry.
