2025 Community Shorts Program Submission
Submissions OPEN until OCTOBER 31, 2025
Guidelines: Filmmakers and media artists can submit their short films, video poetry, video art, experimental films, animated shorts and music videos to the festival to screen in our curated/non-competition community block.
Selected filmmakers will receive a CARFAC-RAAV artist/screening fee, an official selection laurel and a Festival Pass to the 2025 Digi60 Filmmakers’ Festival.
What kind of projects are we looking to screen at the Digi60 Community Shorts night?
Created locally (Directed/Produced) by Ottawa-Gatineau and surrounding areas filmmakers and artists.
Films by diverse and underrepresented voices including BIPOC creators, 2SLGBTQIA+ creators, Francophone creators, Persons with disabilities, Youth and Women+-identified creators.
Shorts under or around 15 minutes (any genre or medium), exceptionally up to 30 mins.
Films that have not screened at Digi60 before. These films should be “new to us”!
This screening will be co-presented by the Digital Arts Resource Centre.

Notification Date: November 15, 2025 Screening*: December 5, 2025
Due to the volume of submissions, only selected filmmakers will be contacted.
*Please note: that all final selections will require subtitles to be included on the screening copy (in English or French) to maintain our minimum accessibility standards. We kindly ask that filmmakers provide these with the final screening copy once selected.
