DESCRIPTION
The Director of Partnerships & Sponsorship is a key leadership role on Digi60’s Board of Directors, responsible for building and nurturing relationships that financially and strategically support the growth of the festival and Ottawa’s independent filmmaking community.
This is a volunteer board role ideal for a connector—someone with a strong network, a passion for the arts, and an understanding of how mutually beneficial partnerships can elevate emerging talent and strengthen community impact.
As Digi60 continues to grow, this role will work with the Board to shape the Festival's programming as we transition from a working board of directors to a governance board by 2027.
What’s Involved
2-year term on Digi60's Board of Directors
Monthly Board meetings (2 hours max)
Engagement at the Digi60 AGM and Digi60's Strategic Planning meetings
Participation at Digi60's annual planning meeting
10 volunteer hours at key Digi60 events throughout the year such as International Women's Day, Industry Socials or Mixers, in a leadership role (as Host, MC, or Facilitator)
Supporting Digi60's Annual Festival in December as an organizer, speaker, facilitator (3 days)
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and secure new sponsorships and partnerships that align with Digi60’s values and mission to support emerging and independent filmmakers.
Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, arts organizations, media outlets, educational institutions, and industry partners.
Create year-round partnership opportunities for Digi60’s core events, including:
The Annual December Festival
Industry Socials and Mixers
Special programming initiatives (e.g., International Women’s Day events)
Work collaboratively with the Director of Communications & Public Engagement to:
Ensure sponsor visibility across Digi60’s platforms and marketing materials
Develop compelling partnership pitch decks and sponsorship packages
Help identify potential grant and funding opportunities (in collaboration with the Treasurer and Equity Director, if relevant)
Ensure sponsor obligations are fulfilled, including on-site recognition, event speaking opportunities, or logo placement, depending on each agreement.
Contribute to long-term sustainability planning by helping build a growing base of consistent sponsors and strategic allies in the local arts and tech sectors.
Suggested Qualifications:
Experience in partnership development, fundraising, or sponsorship (non-profit or arts-related preferred)
Strong networking and relationship-building skills
Ability to pitch and present confidently to potential sponsors
Comfort with collaborative planning and cross-functional teamwork
Familiarity with Ottawa’s business and/or arts ecosystem is a strong asset
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
