Short Film Success — Info Session

As you make your 60-Day Challenge film, there are plenty of creative decisions to think about — but there are also practical considerations that can affect what happens to your film after it’s finished.

On Sunday, October 25 from 7:00–8:00 PM ET, Digi60 is hosting a virtual info session on our Discord with Up Light Academy for 2026 60-Day Challenge participants.

The session will draw from Up Light Academy’s Short Film Success course to introduce filmmakers to some of the producing, legal and distribution considerations worth thinking about while a short film is still in production.

Topics covered may include:

  • ownership, rights and chain of title

  • cast, crew and location releases

  • music, copyright and clearances

  • budgeting and production considerations

  • preparing a film for festivals and future distribution

  • audience building and promotional materials

  • thinking about the longer life of your short film after Digi60

The goal is simple: to help filmmakers better understand some of the decisions they can make now, while their films are still being created, that may give them more options once the film is complete.
