2026 Community Shorts Program Submission

Submissions open October 1–31, 2026

This screening will be co-presented by the Digital Arts Resource Centre (DARC).

Digi60’s Community Shorts Program celebrates short-form work created by filmmakers and media artists from Ottawa-Gatineau and the surrounding region.

Filmmakers and media artists are invited to submit short films, documentaries, animation, video poetry, video art, experimental work, music videos and other short-form projects for consideration in our curated, non-competition Community Shorts screening.

Selected filmmakers will receive a CARFAC-RAAV artist/screening fee, an Official Selection laurel, and a Festival Pass to the 2026 Digi60 Filmmakers’ Festival.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Locally created work directed and/or produced by filmmakers and artists from Ottawa-Gatineau and the surrounding region.

  • Work by diverse and underrepresented voices, including BIPOC creators, Indigenous creators, 2SLGBTQIA+ creators, Francophone creators, persons with disabilities, youth and women+ creators.

  • Short films approximately 15 minutes or less, in any genre or medium. Exceptional works up to 30 minutes may be considered.

  • Films that have not previously screened at Digi60. We want the Community Shorts program to showcase work that is new to our audiences.
