DESCRIPTION
The Member-at-Large position offers a flexible opportunity for passionate individuals who want to support the Digi60 Filmmakers' Festival and Ottawa’s independent filmmaking community but may not align with a specific board role at the time of application.
Members-at-Large serve as active members of the Board of Directors and contribute to festival planning, community engagement, and organizational development. During their term, they will work with the Board to identify an area of focus that matches their interests, skills, and availability — whether that’s programming, partnerships, community outreach, logistics, or something entirely new.
This is a great entry point for someone looking to grow into a leadership role within the local arts scene.
What’s Involved
2-year term on Digi60's Board of Directors
Monthly Board meetings (2 hours max)
Engagement at the Digi60 AGM and Digi60's Strategic Planning meetings
Participation at Digi60's annual planning meeting
10 volunteer hours at key Digi60 events throughout the year such as International Women's Day, Industry Socials or Mixers, in a leadership role (as Host, MC, or Facilitator)
Supporting Digi60's Annual Festival in December as an organizer, speaker, facilitator (3 days)
Key Responsibilities:
Attend and participate in monthly board meetings and strategic planning sessions
Engage in collaborative planning for Digi60’s annual festival and other events
Support organizational initiatives, programming, or committees as needed
Contribute ideas, energy, and perspective to help strengthen the festival’s reach and relevance
Work with the Board Executive to identify a more defined area of contribution or leadership focus during their term
Act as a public ambassador for Digi60 and help grow community connections
