FILMMAKERS TALK FILMMAKING
Tom Shoebridge led a discussion with three of our filmmakers – Nathan Estabrooks, Stephanie Halin and Kristian Lariviere – at our Workshop day hosted by Algonquin College’s Broadcast Department.
FILMS ARE IN !!
The films for this year’s festival have been submitted and are now in the hands of our Judges ! Thank you to everyone for your patience and perseverance as we used the internet as our primary method for submission. My poor little modem was smoking, but we have them all.
See you at the screenings !

Screenwriters Pitch Event
Eight screenwriters presented their story ideas, based on The Catch, to a group of filmmakers last Saturday evening. Here are some photos of each pitch.
Digi60 Special Writers’ Room Meeting
Next Sunday, October 2nd, 2-4pm, at the Carleton Tavern. We will host a Digi60 version of The Writers’ Room. The two writers selected, Michael H (Jeremy, Directing) and Jennifer (Kristian, Directing) will have a slot available to them for feedback. Same format, 20 minutes each.
We will also open up the floor to 4 other Directors who may want to punch up their script before shooting begins. Do you need help with a character, a scene, some dialogue, maybe the sequence of events? The Writers’ Room is here to help. You get 20 minutes of honest and useful feedback to make your finished product great.
We will need to get the names and scripts in by Friday NOON, to have 48 hours to turn them around with notes.
If you or someone you know is interested, please send an email to thewritersroomottawa@gmail.com

The 60 days begins now…as of 7pm, Saturday September 24.
Good Luck!!
