ALGONQUIN TELEVISION BROADCASTING
The Broadcasting – Television Program at Algonquin College, recognized by the Broadcast Educators’ Association of Canada, covers all aspects of the television production process with equal importance given to technical operations and the creative side of production. This two-year Ontario College Diploma program provides students with the formal training to become leaders in the television production industry.
ALL FOR NOTHING? is one part design transformation series, and one part fast-paced real estate drama that pits homeowner against homeowner in a competition to ready their neglected homes for sale. The catch? They have to attempt to do it all for nothing. This W Network series is produced here in Ottawa by Mountain Road Productions.
DOCUMENTARY ORGANIZATION OF CANADA
The Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter of DOC Ottawa-Gatineau was created to address the needs of our local filmmakers outside the major production centres, and develop relationships with like-minded media organizations in the region. Our chapter’s membership consists of a wide variety of veteran filmmakers, emerging content producers and directors who all share a commitment to promoting and enhancing the local documentary industry and community.
Mountain Road Productions Ltd. (MRP) has developed and produced critically acclaimed and award-winning programs that have aired on a number of networks in Canada and around the world. Well established in the broadcast industry, Mountain Road is now taking its production online after having received funding from the Canadian Media Fund’s (CMF) Experimental Stream to produce a leading-edge, interactive children’s website, Totally Random, which will enable kids to engage with each other in an online playground where they will create and share youthful, random ideas. The website is expected to launch fall 2011.
