Cinderfella

Winner – The Jolanta Demanded an Award Award

Directed By Jolanta Mojsej

The entire shooting of the movie was Cinderfella-esque. Okay here goes, this narrative can be sung to the William Tell Overture.

Our leading man Matt Stefiuk had to go to a shot-gun wedding on our original shoot date, nooo chill ladies not his wedding, which meant our original DP, Jith couldn’t make the alternate date ’cause he was booked on a bazillion other Digi shoots, so thank God John stepped in, we scrambled to get a camera but the cupboards were already stripped bare at Parktown, well all the super-kool cameras, anyway, within 10 min of shooting Matt jams the elevator doors…for real…so I was thinking of panicked extras and the cost of replacing an elevator, at the end of that amazingly smooth shoot day, we even had a trailer-hitch party right outside the Governor General’s property, oh don’t worry the security guys were cool after we gave them some sandwiches, where was I…oh yah, we needed extra footage and Anik had an injured arm so the task was left to me and I did ask, in my defense, if Red meant Stop and Green meant go, but ah, apparently Red means record, I know, stupid eh? anyway, so I recorded raw footage of basically my feet, true, I gave the rights to this footage to YOW! Productions who were absolutely falling all over themselves to get it…strange thing, they didn’t react to my Cinderfella raw footage the same way ’cause oh did I mention? YOW! did the editing, so anyway, I finally did get the finished product to Kevin with minutes to spare but didn’t have an envelope and I didn’t want to lose my USB stick, so I took my gum and stuck it to the disk…although, I did get a call from Kevin that both the disk and the stick didn’t work, huh, who knows with technology these days right? oh yah, one more big sweaty event was getting the rights to the songs, welllll it turns out that two of the songs that my friend Danny C let me use had been co-composed with a big-deal composer who’s last song that was licensed to be used in a movie was for $80K!!! ‘what the *#@$!’ is basically what I screamed…but, hey, all’s well that ends well right, ’cause hey, I got my Movie on the Big Screen, surrounded by friends and the cherry on top, I did vin a priz;o)

Thank you to all of the wonderful Cast, Crew and my partner in crime Anik Rompre and Vocal Talent that infused the set and movie with love. I love you guys!!!

P.S. Kevin said I could write a few paragraphs, I said “nah, I just need 1 sentence”.

Sent with luv,
Jolanta
